This striking chair, upholstered in printed banknotes and adorned with aggressive, golden teeth, serves as a bold metaphor for the dangers of passively “sitting on” cash. Its intimidating design reflects how idle money can become a missed opportunity or even a liability if not managed wisely. Without direction, savings can erode in value due to inflation or be consumed by impulsive decisions. The chair reminds us that money should be active, not dormant. A well-defined financial strategy aligned with personal goals, risk tolerance, and future aspirations transforms cash into a tool for empowerment, not a trap of false security or financial stagnation.
Studio Sowow designed the chair’s frame and structure with precision, drawing from traditional commercial seating construction methods to ensure durability and comfort. Inspired by an AI-generated visual, the team translated the concept into a fully manufacturable design. The frame incorporated bespoke elements to achieve the chair’s dramatic, sculptural form. The upholstery graphic, created in-house, was UV printed onto custom faux leather, providing both vibrant detail and durability. Golden teeth were 3D printed to exacting standards, integrated seamlessly into the frame. The seat design followed tried-and-tested upholstery techniques, ensuring the final product was both visually striking and built to high-quality, commercial-grade standards.
